New?
Welcome to this brand new literature wolf roleplaying forum! New Blood was created on the 9th February 2013.
The premise for this forum is very simple: one pack, many possibilities. This is a non-fantasy forum that will revolve around the lives of twelve pack members. The characters here are premades, with a variety of ages and personalities, and it is not until every pack member is taken and roleplayed that I will consider custom/loner wolves to enter the picture. This may or may not be a temporary measure, and if you wish to use your own wolf, this forum will not be for you! (At least for now.)
This is a picture of the pack's territory. This is the view a wolf would have from the den.
Each character has had a picture chosen for them. I've tried my best to find high-quality and unique pictures to show each character's personality and physique. If you think you can find a better picture, don't be afraid to ask!
You may edit images to look more unique, but please be careful when it comes to copyright. I do not own any of the pictures that I've used!
When you begin roleplaying here, you will be allowed one character. When you've proven yourself an active member for the first couple of weeks, I'll be happy to grant a second character.
Keep in mind that the opportunity for loners to interact with the pack and join it may be opened up. If we decide to expand, we'll announce it. There is an exception for mothers with newborn pups.
There is an obvious hierarchy within the pack, and these are the ranks:-
Alpha - The Leaders of the Pack. Both Male and Female are referred to as 'Alpha', not a female 'Alphess'. These have the most power and respect within a pack, they answer the calls of lone wolves who wish to join the pack, and they make all of the final decisions. Their choice can overrule that of any other packmember.
Beta - These are the second-in-command wolves. They are well trusted by the Alphas and therefore by the pack, and when the Alphas are not around, they can clearly take charge. They lead most hunts and can suggest decisions to be made.
Delta - These wolves make up most of the pack and are still trusted pack members. They have usually been around for a long time, or they are close to the Alphas. Pups who have reached adulthood are usually converted to Delta.
Omega - These wolves are still part of the pack, however, they may not be as well trusted, or they may have just joined the pack. Most newcomers are Omegas, and any shadier characters too.
Elders - Wolves don't live beyond 10 years in the wild, and that's if they're lucky. Any wolf beyond 7 years of age is considered an elder. Elders have the same level of respect as most Deltas.
Pups - Any wolf below the age of 1 is seen as a Pup. They have little to no responsibility and respect, and proving themselves as valuable pack members is often difficult.
(Loners - Wolves who have no pack, and therefore no position in the wolf hierarchy. They have no responsibilities and are not allowed to breed with pack wolves, which would jeopardize the pack wolf's position in the pack.)
You must have a signature displaying either your wolf's picture, name and rank, or a link to your wolf's profile. This makes it easy to see who has which characters. An example would be:
You may make your own graphics (signatures/avatars), or request someone else make them.
Roleplaying boundaries! Romance is allowed, to an extent, but if you're intending on getting graphic please state so in your title and make sure that whoever your roleplaying with is comfortable with it. Violence happens, they are wolves after all, but again, nothing too graphic please.
At the moment there is only one pack, and one set of lands. If the pack splits or the plot requires more lands to be added, I will be happy to add more to the forum. I'm looking for an interactive experience and am open to changes depending on where our characters take us! Nothing is set in stone.
Hope you join us, and if you have, hope to see you roleplaying soon! Make sure you read the rules and plot posted below!
